The BA (Hons) Innovation in Learning and Development will develop your knowledge, understanding & skills at the interface of business and human learning. A key aim is to prepare you for a range of career options across the fields of education, learning, business or management. It also aims to foster transferable skills and attributes that will equip you to participate effectively in a 21st century economy.
You can see the modules we offer are very much focused on the future. The ‘Innovation and Technology’ module recognises that the world of education is never going to stand still. ‘Sustainable Cultures’ meanwhile, will focus your mind on what’s needed to create a more tolerant, equal, diverse and accepting workplace.
You will be proficient in research, analysis and presentation of data. You will be able to work in teams and take responsibility for your employment role. You will also have the self-knowledge and confidence to continue your learning and skills development as the needs of the workplace evolve.

To critically and creatively explore the potential of innovation and technology to advance learning and quality of learning experience in formal and informal settings.
Learning Today
This module is designed enable students to think critically and creatively, recognising the complexity of human learning and development within and beyond formal schooling.
Educational Leadership
To critically engage with and understand theory, concepts and models of leadership and to develop skills in educational leadership, with particular focus on coaching and mentoring.
Research Methods
To design a research proposal, appropriate to an inquiry into future trends in learning or innovation, where the project design and methodology is fully understood and explained.
Sustainable Cultures
To explore culture within educational organisations and environments as an enabler for learners to feel visible, valued and validated.
Future Project
To lead a future trends research project drawing on strategic foresight to inquire into and evaluate future trends in learning or innovation.
1. A Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or equivalent qualification at Level 5
2. All applicants should possess Mathematics and English Language GCSE at Grade C or above
If you do not hold the qualifications listed but have relevant work experience, you are welcome to apply. Your application will be considered on an individual basis. You will need to show appropriate knowledge and experience. For example, an ideal candidate will have 240 undergraduate credits (at Levels 4 and 5), a DipHE, Foundation Degree or HND in a related subject area.
In terms of further study, as a successful graduate you can progress onto PGCE or PCET Masters level programmes at
Higher Education Institutions of Learning. For future career progression, you will be well equipped for a transformed world of work, and able to deliver in many diverse employment situations.
